Hi, my name is Irina

and I am from Saint-Petersburg.

It is one of the most beautiful cities of the world! It's the second capital of Russia.


It was founded by Peter the Great at South of Karelia, at the Baltic coast in order to connect Russia with Europe.

Since then it seems that we live in a few realities, in a few countries. In modern Europe

and in an ancient Russian town...



...in sumptuous palaces...

 

 

...and at the swampy coast...

 

...in the industrial center...

 

...and in the Capital of Arts (it is the New Stage of Mariinskii Theatre in the picture)...

 

And also we have a lot of little sculptures in our city:

 

this rabbit reminds me one Australian animal...

 

Twice a year all residents of the city feel like one large family: on January 27, when we celebrate the day of Lifting the Siege of Leningrad during the War...

 

...and at the end of June when thousands of young people are graduating and beginning a new life. On this day we celebrate “Scarlet Sails” – the day when hopes come true.

 

Petersburg is wonderful at any time! Come to our city!
