Once it took only a few weeks for powerful godlike king of Persia Xerxes to get over the distance from the inhospitable valley of Thermopylae in which Spartan Guard of King Leonidas calmed forever, to Athens, protected by triremes of strategist Themistocles.

Hollywood producers of the legendary epic "300" did the same for seven years!

Still, better late than never!

The sequel of the acclaimed in 2007 blockbuster has changed the director and protagonist, but it reasonably kept part of the title, style and ambitions: an aggressive graphics; deadly power, sexy actors with a thick layer of makeup, accessories and biceps, a minimum of historical truth - a maximum of sensuality and machismo.

Hordes of charming decorated with garlands Xerxes marched south to the flourishing Greek poleis. The Queen Artemisia – the militant ally of the Persians - gives a sophisticated charisma to this company.

But new soldiers pick up the noble cause of the fallen Spartan heroes. Athenian fleet and army of Sparta must combine their efforts for the sake of the survival of civilization.

All is clear about the Athenian fleet, because the name of clever naval commander Themistocles is written in any history school textbook. But the Spartans now have a choice! Whether vengeful Leonidas' widow Gorgo will leads them, or they will prefer the masculine in the person of the one-eyed veteran with a sleight-of-mouth? However, the one does not interfere with the other.

Whatever it was obvious to everyone that the sequel of "300" without the participation of the only surviving member of the heroic team would look quite strange.

Don't we wrote that David in this Saga has a winning role? Regardless of its size. )))
