This is a really classic example of an audience success.
This TV-series is the Australian record-holder. It got 25 Logie Awards for 13 seasons, audience of 2,5 million Australian on the peak of popularity and the international recognition (the show was sold in 108 countries).
It seems only to be presenting a workaday routine of a common police station in a small provincial town. To be sure, the town is special. It was overwhelmed by increase of crime: murders, escapes from prison, seizure of hostages, bank-robbery... One day malefactors even managed to blow up the police station! In addition to those there were implacable conflicts with the higher organs, which are ready without any cause to liquidate a heroic station, and moreover dramatic every day family collisions of the brave myrmidons of the law... The question is when is time to be bored and to relax?
David visited twice this tremendous of raging of criminality town. As it should be in different guises. And it was in such a way.

An ordinary TV-series miracle happened in the third season of the soap opera.
Constable Maggie Doyle pretended to be not astonished, when a stunning truth was discovered: a meager unfortunate lad named
Will Cassidy, who two years ago was accused of kidnapping and murder of two girls, indeed turned out to be her brother named Robby Doyle...
However with Robby everything didn't go off swimmingly; in spite of a very good inheritance (his father, brother and sister are the policemen, and he himself belongs rather to this department), a young man was very soon found in a state of a drug intoxication.
To complete the plot, he is accused of heroin's theft from the table of one of the policemen.
The family is ready to come to the rescue of the lost sheep, and there is a hope, that Robby is not completely lost for the society, however it is already not David's business.
The script was planning the further development of this character, but David for any of several reasons didn't take part in this development.
One more TV-series miracle happened, and in the next episodes a meager red-haired Robby changed into a round-faced brunet.
But relatives and friends pretended again not to notice that. The audience evidently too.
