A heroic film with a heroic name about heroic people.

A film-milestone for a young graduating student of a drama school. Besides that David got for the first time a "named" role on the screen, which moreover means more than a pair seconds of the screen time, more than one fleeting scene, and therefore his role had its development. Moreover, David's participation in the movie became for him a master class of leading actors of the Australian cinema and a great honor, because in a certain sense it was a contact with epos of a young Australian nation.

The plot of the movie is based on the real events of the Second World War and narrates about a legendary special operation of British-Australian commandos under the coded name "Jaywick"

1943 a frail fishing boat "Krait" with a crew of courageous men, dressed only in Asiatic sarongs, made an unbelievable way from the Australian coasts to Singapore through thousand miles controlled by the Japanese fleet. The aim of the operation was a diversion in Singapore harbor, as a result of that the best Japanese warships, intended for the attack on the Green Continent, blew up.

Having successfully managed the entrusted mission, the heroes, not without some troubles, but triumphal returned home.

Young David, with his frail constitution and childish face, in a role of commando?..

Why not? Besides, if we take into account the fact, that David played for the first time in his life an absolutely real man.

Horrie Young, by his own admission, wasn't the best man-of-war's man, but he was an excellent telegraphist and during the raid kept a diary, which became an important historical source for film-creators. Horrie Young was one of the few operation participants, who lived to the film shooting. So David got the possibility to consult with a living prototype of his character: in accordance with the assurances of Horrie Young himself, anyone can read without difficulties messages, which a young telegraphist send in the movie.
